My family has the tradition of having this
super yummy pie for Thanksgiving!
This year I made one for the in-laws.
Pie Crust
2 cups flour
2/3 cups shortening
1 tsp. salt
4-5 tsp. cold water
Mix the flour, shortening and salt together until crumbly.
Add the water.
Blend until it holds together.
Roll dough into a ball.
Roll dough to 1/8" thick on lightly floured surface.
Line Pie Plate and Crimp edges how you would like.
Bake Pie Shell at 350 for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
Chocolate Cream Pie
1/2 cups Cocoa
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 cups corn starch + 1 Tbl. spoon
1/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs
2 cups milk
2 tsp. vanilla
In a sauce pan on medium mix:
cocoa, sugar, corn starch, yolk of egg, salt and milk.
Cook until thick - stir constantly.
(It will seem really thin at first but
just keep stirring and stirring and it will thicken up.)
Add Vanilla.
Pour into baked pie shell
For Thanksgiving I made mine a little bit festive with
a cinnamon sugar "turkey" made out of the pie crust dough.

Enjoy!
