Knotty or Nice

One of my favorite things about giving gifts is the packaging! I love to do it up all cute in fun bag or box with a darling bow or ribbon – it just makes it that much more darling! So I am in love with the new line (Knotty or Nice) from Lifestyles because it has just that – bows!!

There are four different dies that come in the set and each one makes a fun new bow.

You can easily make any of the above or manipulate it just a little bit to make the bow that I made too. The thing I love best about using the dies is that there are so many possibilities – just find some cute paper and you are set!

For this little package I used the bottom bow and the swing top box die.

I love the outcome!

Christmas Tree Letter Ornaments

I cannot believe it is time for Christmas crafts already! But I am so excited that it is. Christmas time is my favorite time of the year and while I was thinking about Christmastime and the activities and such that we have planned for this year I kept going back to one word – Joy! I really want this holiday season to be about the Joy that Christmas brings and celebrate as a family by being together making fun memories. I thought it would be fun to make some cute Christmas Letter Ornaments to hang on my tree to remind us throughout the season.

I found some fun little letters at Hobby Lobby that were pretty light that I knew would work perfect for the project I had in mind. Using the paints – Christmas Red and Holly Leaf by Plaid – I painted the edges of the letters.
Next, I flipped the letters over and traced them onto Christmas paper. After I cut the letters out I used Antique Matte Mod Podge and applied the paper to the wood. I love using Mod Podge! It is probably one of my favorite products to use because there are so many different formulas that give your finished product a different look. I simply brushed the Mod Podge onto my piece of wood, applied my paper and then brushed a nice thick layer over the top.

When everything was dry, I hot glued some white ribbon to the back of my letter so I can hang them on my tree.
Hang them on your tree and you are done!
If you love PLAID as much as I do you can follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest!
I wrote this post as part of a paid campaign with Mod Podge and Blueprint Social. The opinions in this post are my own.

Halloween 2012

I know! I know! Halloween was over a week and a half ago – and I am behind! But I just couldn’t let this year go on without sharing a few Halloween pictures with you! I am a little bit crazy when it comes to my kids and their costumes and having them match. They are young right now so I have a few years left – but it will be hard to let them choose their own costumes one day. This year I went with the Mickey Theme! Since we have been all things baby around here this year – I took the easy way out and ordered the costumes – and they are darling!

For my 2 week old Pluto – I special ordered it from Crystal at AOkay Designs and loved it! It was perfect!

Now onto Thanksgiving and my favorite – Christmas!!

Still Adjusting -

The Fall Fever Series has come and gone and I am still trying to adjust to my new little one.

I thought taking a month off and leaving you in the hands of wonderful guest posters would be just the ticket to getting back on track and getting things pulled together – but I still am not there yet.

No matter what I do – something is going to suffer and fail for a little bit and I am determined to not let it be my children.

I will not fail as their mother.

So standby – things will be scarce for a little bit but I will be back – and I have some fun things to share!

Get Your Mix On! {Scentsy Giveaway!!}

Have you ever thought to mix a couple of your favorite Scentsy fragrances together to come up with a unique –one of a kind- scent just for your home? Neither had I – until I heard about ScenTrend 2012: Pink Pepper! It is warm and spicy and perfect for the Fall season. All you need to do is add it in with another scent and enjoy the fragrance that will fill your home. I started out with one scent (like Sheer Innocence) and added in a Pink Pepper cube for a splash of feisty and loved the outcome. Then I braved up a bit and added in a few scents here and there until I found one that I totally loved!

Paradise Punch + Sheer Innocence + Pink Pepper = Amazing!

The best part is that I get to share my fabulous new scent with one lucky winner!! One lucky duck will receive a warmer of their choice and the three bars I used to make my fragrance mix – Hip! Hip! Hooray! All you need to do is use Rafflecopter and vote on a name for my new scent! There are a few more ways to enter – but this one is the big one!

Good Luck!!

I was given a warmer and scents to try out from Scentsy but all the opinions are mine!

1 (15.2 oz) apple cinnamon muffin mix 1 (15 oz) canned pumpkin 2 eggs 1/4 C lowfat milk Strudel Topping: 1/4 C flour 1/4 C brown sugar 1/4 C whole oats 2 Tbsp butter, softened Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line muffin tins with paper liners. In a large mixing bowl beat eggs, add pumpkin, muffin mix with apple pouch; mix until incorporated. Add milk and mix until smooth. Spray the inside of muffin liners with cooking spray (so the muffin will easily release) Fill each liner 2/3 full. Strudel Topping: In a small bowl combine flour, brown sugar, oats; mix. Add butter and cut in with fork until small peas sized. Sprinkle 1 tsp on the top of each muffin liner.
